This Privacy Policy explains how CineDraft, operated by Quiet Craft, collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use our website or iOS app (the “App”).
1. Information We Collect
You provide directly
- Account info (email, password, display name, username)
- Profile content (bio, photo, location, favorites, lists)
- Movie activity (ratings, reviews, journal entries, watchlist)
- Social content (thoughts, comments, follows)
- League activity (drafts, trades, messages)
Collected automatically
- Device and browser metadata (type, OS version)
- Usage analytics (which screens you visit, anonymized)
- Crash reports (no personal content)
- IP address (for security and abuse prevention)
2. How We Use Your Information
- To operate the App and provide its core features
- To personalize your home feed and recommendations
- To send transactional notifications (replies, league events, trade offers)
- To protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats
- To improve the App based on aggregated usage patterns
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use third-party advertising networks or tracking pixels.
3. How We Share Information
We share data only in these limited circumstances:
- With other users: your profile, reviews, activity and league participation are visible according to your Privacy Controls.
- With service providers: Firebase for hosting, authentication, push, and analytics; TMDB for film data and imagery; rating providers (Letterboxd, IMDb, MDBList) for aggregated scores. Each operates under its own privacy policy.
- For legal reasons: if required by law, court order, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
4. Your Privacy Controls
You can manage what auto-posts to your feed in Settings → Privacy Controls:
- Account privacy (public or private)
- Who can message you (everyone, followers, nobody)
- Activity sharing mode and per-category toggles
You can block other users from your profile to prevent them from viewing your activity, messaging you, or interacting with your content.
5. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent for any optional processing

6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently remove your data, typically within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal or fraud-prevention purposes. Aggregated, anonymized usage data may be retained indefinitely.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security practices including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted storage at rest, and access controls. No method of internet transmission is 100% secure; while we work to protect your data, we can't guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
CineDraft is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us their information, contact us and we'll delete it promptly.
9. International Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our servers and service providers operate. When we transfer data internationally we rely on appropriate safeguards.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the “Last updated” date and may notify you in the App. Your continued use after the effective date indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
