Amanda Jane Stern
Actor · Director · WriterAmanda Jane Stern is a writer, actor, and producer from New York City. She started acting at 9-years-old when she was cast as a Shakespeare reciting Brownie Scout girl in the bizarre comedy, "Martin and Orloff." She continued to act through her childhood and teen years. She took off from acting to attend Brandeis University, where she received a BA in Film, Television and Interactive Media and Theater Arts. While at Brandeis, she discovered her passion for writing and directing as well. Her senior thesis, "Coerced: A Documentary Play," was featured on NPR. The play told the story of a teenage girl who was illegally interrogated by police and coerced into a murder confession. After graduating, she jumped right back into the industry booking a supporting role in the Lifetime TV movie, "Amish Witches: The True Story of Holmes County," and directing the 9-episode, musical-comedy web series, "In Retrospect." She wrote, produced, and starred in the erotic thriller "Perfectly Good Moment." The film follows the toxic relationship between 27-year-old Ruby and 42-year-old David. The film also stars Broadway's Stephen Carlile and was directed by Lauren Greenhall in her narrative feature film debut.
