

Vladimir Smirnov
ActorVladimir Nikolaevich Smirnov is a Soviet and Bulgarian theater and film actor, best known to the audience for his role as Jules Verne in the Soviet-Bulgarian multi-part television adventure film directed by Stanislav Govorukhin "In Search of Captain Grant" (1985). Graduated from LGITMiK in 1965 (Boris Zon's workshop). He was an actor in the Leningrad Theater of the Lenin Komsomol. In 1967 he married a Bulgarian student Silvia Spasova and went to Bulgaria with her. Since 1969 he has been an actor at the National Youth Theater in Sofia. He acted in films. The peak of popularity among the Bulgarian moviegoer is the 1970-1980s. He retained the citizenship of the USSR and Russia. He passed away on August 10, 2000 in Sofia, Bulgaria, after suffering a severe stroke at the age of 59.
